6 Things You Should Incorporate in Your Morning Routine as a College Student

Hello again! It’s SO NICE to be back. I have started my senior year of college, and I have learned so much during my journey as a college student. One of those things that I’ve learned is to be productive in your mornings. This leaves you with energy and productivity, and a great ease into your day!

Check your E-mails

ALWAYS check your emails in the morning. You never know if your professor will cancel class or if you need to bring a specific item to class until you check your emails. It is important because it helps you stay on top of your planning for classes, work, and your organizations. Also, NEVER be afraid to email your professors with questions! They’ll be happy to answer anything that you have. Recently I have asked professors about office hours and internship opportunities, and they answered them for me!

Double check your planner to see if you finished your homework for that specific day

We’ve all been there, we’ve all missed an assignment because we simply just forgot to do that assignment. The next morning, PLEASE go through your planner to see if you finished all of your work before your intended class. Even if you didn’t finish it, you will feel better knowing you may have time to finish it before class.

If you’re looking for a job, call around to see who’s hiring

Ah yes, job hunting. It’s not everyones favorite thing to do, but if you’re looking for one, feel free to call the job site you are looking into and see if they’re hiring. The worst they will say is that they are not hiring. It’s easier to contact the site by phone because someone will usually answer. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for odd jobs for money or jobs that relate to your major, either way it’s good to contact sites to see if you can send in a resume, and if you do it in the morning, it relieves the stress off your day!

Go to the Library

Studies have shown that you retain information better in the morning compared to the evening. Personally, I LOVE going to the library in the mornings. Theres no one there, you start your day with studying, and it gives you more time to study. I always go to the library in the morning before an exam because I want to retain as much information as I can. Studying in the morning will make you feel more productive and will give you ample time to work.

Get a Workout in

Morning workouts are GREAT. They leave you energized for the rest of the day. I feel so much better whenever I work out in the mornings, no matter what I do. If you work out in the mornings, you will be able to be energized for your long day, or when you need to study a lot.

EAT BREAKFAST!!!

I know it’s cheesy, but eat breakfast. Eating breakfast keeps you full and focused. You won’t be worrying about being hungry while sitting in class because you didn’t eat. If your excuse is that you “don’t have time”, click here if you want to see easy breakfasts to make when you’re low on time!
